STI Screen

During a full STI screen, various samples may be collected depending on the specific tests recommended by the healthcare provider. These can include urine samples, blood samples, swabs from the genital area, throat, or rectum, or a combination of these.

The collected samples are sent to a laboratory for analysis, where they undergo specialized testing to identify the presence of different STIs. The specific STIs screened for may include but are not limited to, HIV, syphilis, gonorrhoea, chlamydia, herpes, hepatitis B and C, and human papillomavirus (HPV).
