What does this process involve?
Firstly, a topical anaesthetic is applied to the area that will be treated. Secondly, our clinician will draw a small sample of blood. This is then spun in a centrifuge for approximately five minutes to separate the plasma from the other blood particles.
Lastly, the platelet rich plasma is then reinjected back into the treatment area, stimulating collagen and elastin production.
Is the PRP for me?
PRP is suitable for both men and women who still have some hair, although it is thinning. Catching this hair loss or thinning early will get you the best results.
The PRP facial can be beneficial to people who have wrinkles, sun damage, or scars. By placing PRP back into the skin, cell proliferation is encouraged. This leads to an increase in elastin and collagen production. As a result, the skin will look tighter, fuller, and smoother.
However, PRP is not recommended for people with these medical conditions:
- HIV or AIDS
- Any type of blood cancer
- Skin cancer in the area to be treated
- Hepatitis C
- Cardiovascular diseases that require blood thinners
Does PRP hurt?
In general, PRP injections are not painful. This may vary by the patient or by the area of the body in which the injection is being made. Local anaesthetic can be used to manage this discomfort.
When will I see results?
From your first treatment it will typically take about 3 to 6 months to see results.
How long will Results last?
Depending on the purpose of the PRP (face rejuvenation or hair loss) the results will last for different periods of time. After the course of PRP sessions, patients will have results last up 2 Years.
