PRP/PRF Consultation
PRP stands for Platelet-Rich Plasma. It is a regenerative treatment that utilizes the patient’s own blood to promote healing and rejuvenation in various areas of the body, including the skin, hair, and joints.
The treatment can improve skin texture and tone, reduce fine lines and wrinkles and scarring, and stimulate collagen and skin cell production for a plumper more radiant complexion.
The growth factors in the blood are utilised to stimulate new hair follicles, this can be particularly effective along the eyebrows as well as the scalp.
After a few months, your hair should seem thicker and fuller than before.
Duration and Results
We recommend starting with three treatments, each 4 weeks apart. Depending on your individual circumstances additional treatments may be advised but for most patients, three will suffice. On average, the benefits of PRP Treatments last forever.
However, most patients would need to repeat treatments after a year, on average, in order to maintain the hair growth effects. Please remember that every patient will have different results.
What does this process involve?
Firstly, a topical anaesthetic is applied to the area that will be treated.
Secondly, our clinician will draw a small sample of blood. This is then spun in a centrifuge for approximately five minutes to separate the plasma from the other blood particles.
Lastly, the platelet rich plasma is then reinjected back into the treatment area, stimulating collagen and elastin production.
