Mirena / Kyleena Coil Removal or Insertion
The initial Mirena coil consultation is when the doctor gathers information about the individual’s medical history, current contraceptive methods, and reproductive goals. They may ask questions about previous contraceptive use, menstrual cycle patterns, family history, current medications, and any existing health conditions that may impact the use of the Mirena coil.
Following the initial consultation, the patient can make an appointment for insertion.
Typically the Mirena coil lasts for three years (Kyleena) and five years (Mirena) so the patient can make an appointment for removal and insertion of a new device if they wish.
